Madden NFL 15
Associate Game Designer
My second shipped title I took on greater responsibilities, becoming Product Owner over several features within Madden NFL 15's Connected Franchise Mode. For Madden NFL 15, my two major focuses were Game Prep and the Branching Storylines System. For Game Prep, I made over 150 variations of our practice scenarios for every playable position through scripting and xml. Branching Storylines is a system that dynamically creates events based around our college players that can have a significant impact on how they play. Not only did I handle the technical aspects of the feature through scripting, I also wrote the majority of the audio and text that accompanied the system. Other roles included updating our user interface, general tuning of the mode, and debugging/fixing a lot of bugs.
Madden NFL 25
Assistant Game Designer
I began work on my first professional title as an intern assisting with the design of one of Madden NFL 25's epic features, Owner Mode. Over time I took on more responsibilities and eventually converted from an intern, to a full time employee. My first major task was completely overhauling our User Interface for Connected Franchise Mode. To do this, I had to review our 80~ screens and determine their priority and placement in the new interface. I also handled the necessary user interface scripting to arrange these screens, when they would appear, and bubble up any live data that was available for me to use. Other roles included organizing and keeping our design documents up to date in our team Wiki (Confluence).
